Assembly at a Los Angeles elementary school
Armed
with an apron full of balloons, a laptop, and a digital projector,
Addi visits schools, libraries, and youth groups to put on educational
shows for kids.
Using
his balloon hat photos from 34 countries, Addi teaches children
about GEOGRAPHY and different CULTURES around the world. Colorful
visuals and an interactive approach ensure engagement in the subject
matter. Students have so much fun, they don't realize they
are actually learning.
Throughout the presentation, Addi makes balloon objects for children
in the audience. Effortlessly twisting complex animals, headdresses
or jewelry and performing difficult experimental tricks, Addi talks
with students about the importance of PRACTICE as the best way to
excel in life.
Through the Balloon
Hat Project's international “What is Laughing?” survey
and through exciting interactive games, Addi
also helps explain the NATURE OF LAUGHTER, its importance in our
lives, and how all people are born knowing how to laugh.

Somekh was a great choice to kick off the Summer Reading Club at
my library. We have a large and diverse group of children in this
community. Addi had the kids laughing and fully engaged in his presentation.
His slide show about his trip around the world making balloon hats
helped the kids learn about geography. They saw a wide variety of
cultures always with the underlying principle that laughter is universal.
He had many willing volunteers to help demonstrate his advanced
balloon hat making techniques. They had a great time. I would highly
recommend Addi.

Both
parents and children were captivated by the unique balloon creations
that Addi so effortlessly made. He also gave an entertaining geography
lesson, accompanied by humorous pictures from his wordly travels.
This was a wonderful program!

Somekh's Balloonhat show is nothing like you've ever seen. He is
not just any balloon artist... he is the one and only.
Children and adults were thrilled and amazed by his artistry &
showmanship. The show is educational and imaginative as he produces
hats, animals, and unusual balloon-objects for the audience, and
discusses his incredible round-the-world tours creating balloon
artwork for everyone from yogis in India to vaqueros in Peru. You
will not be disappointed.

Dear
Addi and Charlie,
Thank you for coming to our school and making a balloon hat for
me. You impressed me because you went to countries to make a balloon
hat for a person who is a total stranger. Also you went to some
countries where it was burning hot and freezing cold. That impressed
me a lot.
When I came home with the balloon hat, I gave it to my 4-year-old
little brother. Like you said a balloon is like a language without
words. When I gave him the balloon hat he smiled at me and hugged
me. I had never seen him so happy before.
I hope you come back to our school again. Only I want the whole
school to see the wonderful balloon hats you know how to make and
the countries you have been to.
Sincerely,
Kimberly Rebolledo
